UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

A luxury gift is often a well-deserved treat for loved ones at this time of year, but adding a personal touch will elevate it to new heights. At The Royal Exchange there are a number of ways to put your own stamp on presents for friends and family. Aspinal of London is offering personalisation on its cashmere scarves until 10 December, with prices starting from £25, while Jo Malone is hosting a Christmas Cracker Workshop from 4-7pm on 6 December, inviting you to create your own Christmas cracker with a Christmas joke, chocolate treat and a 9ml cologne of your choice, before customising it with your chosen initials.

EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY

For many, food and drink is at the heart of the festive season and, with feelings of nostalgia high, look no further than the historic Fortnum & Mason, which is holding wine tastings and pairings at its boutique in The Royal Exchange every Friday throughout December from 5pm to get you in the Christmas spirit.

For those who are keen to perfect their baking skills and learn how to apply finishing touches like a pro, Cutter & Squidge is hosting a Christmas Masterclass in cake decorating with its artisan bakers on Saturday 7 December from 12-2pm. Participants will enjoy a glass of prosecco while recreating one of Cutter & Squidge’s signature naked Christmas cakes for themselves.

Year after year, the gift of food is something that never fails and one of the newest additions to The Royal Exchange, Rococo Chocolates, has an exquisite selection of confectionery to choose from presented in handmade gift boxes that come ribboned and ready for Christmas Day. From festive nibbles and aromatic limited-edition Christmas artisan bars to decadent truffle boxes, there is something to please all the family. And for work colleagues, Rococo’s corporate gifting service caters to all manner of budgets and occasions, from saying thank you to your clients to celebrating a new launch.

SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP

Whether you are looking for gifts for family, friends, colleagues, or even yourself, this December there are many opportunities to make the most of exclusive shopping events and discounts at The Royal Exchange. Bamford Grooming Department is hosting a Christmas shopping day on Friday 6 December, including prosecco for customers who browse in the store, plus complimentary mini Edition 1 candles with every purchase. Also on 6 December, Penhaligon’s Global Discount Day will see the brand offer 15% off in store throughout the day. From 7 December, Tateossian will be offering a lucky dip to customers for vouchers ranging from the value of £20 to £50, which will be redeemable against purchases over £150 until the end of January.

Leica will also be holding late night shopping until 7.30pm at the Leica boutique on 5, 11 and 18 December, while skincare brand Urban Veda will stay open until 8pm on 12 and 19 December. Shoppers who make purchases between 6-8pm will receive a goody bag full of delicious vegan snacks, Indian spices and some Urban Veda skincare miniatures. The brand is also collaborating with recycling and waste management service Wastecare, so people can bring empty skincare products from any brand along to the boutique to be recycled.

WATCH THIS SPACE

A beautifully crafted watch is an elegant addition to any festive party outfit, and Omega has launched two new pieces, available at The Royal Exchange boutique, just in time for Christmas. Following the new look of Omega’s women’s modern Constellation Manhattan model, it has released a selection of pieces featuring blue aventurine dials, sometimes called sang-e setareh (sang meaning ‘stone’, and setareh meaning ‘star’ in Persian). Each aventurine glass dial is unique, and the glass is translucent. For men, the Omega Seamaster 300 model is an iconic watch with a history dating back to 1957, and the latest variation features a striking green malachite dial set in 18ct gold.

DRESS TO IMPRESS

Another exciting festive pop-up within The Royal Exchange is fashion designer Isabell Kristensen’s Christmas boutique, where you can browse a show-stopping selection of evening and cocktail dresses perfect for the party season. Open until 23 December, the brand is holding a fashion show on 7 December, and customers who quote ‘Royal Couture’ when making a purchase from the pop-up will receive a festive 10% discount.
