DAWN TO DUSK

JournalInset_WhatsNew_DawnFragranced Layered Candles – A Fresh Fruity Pairing and A Sensual Floral Pairing, each £150 for 600g; Jo Malone London

Jo Malone London has released two new home candles, showcasing the brand’s unique expertise in fragrance layering. Each Fragrance Layered Candle encompasses two classic scents, with four alternating layers of the fragranced wax expertly poured to create a candle that is a blend of the two scents. Two-tone coloured glass encases the 600g candles – which have a burn time of 60 hours – making them a beautiful centrepiece or fireside focal point for your home.

Two Fragrance Layered Candles have been released. ‘A Fresh Fruity Pairing’ combines English Pear & Freesia with bestselling Lime Basil and Mandarin, releasing aromas of just-ripe pear with a citrus twist to create an uplifting blend that’s perfect to help you gear up for the day ahead. To help you relax and wind down in the evening, ‘A Sensual Floral Pairing’ features the ever-popular Pomegranate Noir scent with Peony & Blush Suede, which blend together as it burns through the layers to reveal new aromas.

NEW HEIGHTS OF WATCHMAKING

JournalInset_WhatsNew_WatchmakingLimited Edition Bremont Project Possible watch, £4,995, bremont.com; 1858 Geosphere in Blue watch, from £5,000, montblanc.com

Inspirational mountaineering tales lay at the heart of two new covetable releases from leading watch marques Bremont and Montblanc.

The Limited Edition Bremont Project Possible watch was created by the British watch brand to celebrate the incredible feats of mountaineer, explorer and Bremont ambassador Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja MBE. In 2019, Nims summited the world’s 14 tallest mountains in seven months, breaking six world records in the process. The new watch is limited to just 300 pieces and is based on Bremont’s stalwart, the Supermarine 500. It’s made out of suitably tough titanium and bronze with a sapphire case back through which the heights of all 14 mountains can be seen.

Montblanc’s 1858 Geosphere is also inspired by mountaineering and derring-do – the watch was created to pay tribute to the Seven Summits climbing challenge, in which climbers set out to summit the tallest mountains on each continent. The seven summits are marked on the turning globes on the watch dial and are engraved on the case back. The 1858 collection was created to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Montblanc’s classic Minerva chronograph. The latest addition to the collection – the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere in Blue – is inspired by the colours of glaciers and deftly combines vintage styling with the finest modern watch craft.

Montblanc invites you to discover their latest collections by booking a private appointment in their boutique at The Royal Exchange. Customers making an in-store purchase of £300 or more will receive £20 off the purchase price if they sign up to Montblanc’s newsletter. For an at-home digital appointment email: city@montblanc.co.uk or telephone: +44 (0)20 79294200 to arrange a time and date to suit your schedule.

ONLY CONNECT

JournalInset_WhatsNew_OnlyConnect (1)

Tateossian and Vashi have both created covetable new jewellery pieces with the timely theme of connection at their hearts.

Tateossian’s Raphael Social Distancing Bracelet has been designed to represent hope and positivity, while reminding wearers of the importance of social distancing. Worn wrapped around the wrist up to 11 times, the bracelet can be unravelled to either 1m or 2m to represent the space we need to give each other to stay safe.

The Raphael Bracelet is available in three colours of Italian leather with contrast stitching and is completed with a rhodium-plated silver clasp. Robert Tateossian named the bracelet after his friend Raphael, who is struggling with Covid-19, and 20 per cent of each purchase will go to support NHS Charities Together. The 1m Tateossian Raphael Social Distancing Bracelet is £135 and the 2m version is £155. tateossian.com

Vashi’s new Connections collection is elegantly understated and made for personalisation. You can make the subtle geometric pieces more personal by opting for an engraving of anything from initials to a date or fingerprint, or by adding an intriguing diamond setting in unexpected places such as the inside of a ring. The Connections collection is meant to interact – rings and bangles stack to create individual designs and combinations. Contact Vashi to discover the full range of customisation possibilities and you can even visit the brand’s workbench to see personalisation happen in real time. vashi.com
