Holiday Haute Couture
Wanderlust shouldn’t mean being wardrobe-less. One of the best parts of travel is trying new styles you might not pull off quite so well back home.
It’s a time to get creative, and this season our fashion retailers have dazzled with a range of items as hot as the Spanish midday sun. Why not try them on for size?
Start with the Crockett And Jones SS23 Riviera Collection. Taking its name from the Mediterranean Côte d’Azur, this line of seasonal loafers exudes European fashion sense and southeastern France’s je ne sais quoi. Lightweight and leisurely, the collection continues the brand’s work in unlined construction and its SUPERFLEX leather sole — the label’s most flexible (and exclusive) of its kind — to give long-life, excellent comfort and reassuring grip.
Leather and silks can be found in The Royal Exchange boutique of Parisian legend Hermès. Evoking sunset gallops along the seafront, the equestrian-inspired Arçon bag in Barénia Faubourg calfskin takes its silhouette from the saddle and features a delightful oversized Étrivière buckle. See also their range of men’s and women’s silks with carefree designs: like the Chevaloscope scarf — with a design by Elias Kafouros that depicts the image of the horse through images of leisure: gardening, music-making, drawing, swimming — and hot air ballooning.
July sees Aspinal of London launch its new men’s collection for pre-fall ’23. This is sophistication on the move — fashion built for the journey, be it a day-trip train ride or the well-trodden road to work. The brand’s signature luxury leather has been crafted in four new silhouettes of suave Tobacco and Black Pebble tones: pouches, folios and backpacks to give your travel look a polished edge.
