HOW TO:FIX UP A FESTIVE NEDGRONI
Christmas is a time for indulgence, so treat yourself to this festive twist on the classic Italian cocktail, kindly contributed by our neighbours at The Ned
What’s a Festive Nedgroni?
Created by George Simmons, Millie’s Lounge bar manager, this boozy festive number is a great way to use up leftover red wine. The addition of Pedro Ximénez sherry adds a little extra sweetness with raisin and chocolate notes.
What you’ll need:
For one serving, use 25ml gin – Simmons recommends Star of Bombay — 25ml red wine (such as Grenache), 15ml Campari and 15ml Pedro Ximénez Triana Sherry. One orange and a clove for the finishing touch.
Fill a rocks glass (a tumbler) with ice, then pour in a 15ml measure of the Campari, followed by the 15ml of Pedro Ximenez. Add 25ml of gin and 25ml of red wine and stir well.
Take a large orange and, using a peeler, carefully peel down the orange to make a zest. Pierce one end of the zest with one clove and place it in the drink. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
