With Engel and Jang. A world of delight: fine dining with the finest views.
Engel and Jang welcome you to the Royal Exchange’s first-floor mezzanine to sample something rather wonderful: afternoon tea. These two restaurants are fast becoming City institutions with their creative and vibrant approaches to luxury cuisine, hospitality and design β and this new menu is no exception.

They are proud to be joined by Lorena Tommasi, the new Pastry Chef who has worked with Claude Bosi and at The Park and Annabelβs. “Indulge in our take on English afternoon tea,” goes the invite, “as you soak in the atmosphere (and the view) of a Grade I Listed London landmark. Handmade patisserie, the fluffiest scones and open sandwiches packed with flavour await, alongside Jing teas or your choice of Hattingley Valley English sparkling wine or Ruinart Champagne.”

Like those irreverent Breakfast Hot Dogs, or Chef Dana’s impeccable approach to reimagining Japanese and Korean classics β here you’ll find the Great British menu given a fun (and delicious) twist. Try the Smoked Salmon, Trout Mousse & Pickled Cucumber Open Sandwich with Nasturtium Flowers, for instance, or the Roast Beef, Celeriac Remoulade & Rocket Open Sandwich. And for those with a sweet tooth, enjoy the Apple Choux Sachertorte Seasonal Fruit Tart β as well as, of course, Cheese & Plain Scones With Strawberry Jam & Clotted Cream. The menu is available Monday to Friday, 2.30pm-5pm β starting at Β£35.
