At 17 years old, Bremont may be a relative newcomer in terms of watchmaking, but the brand has quickly established a solid reputation for precision, high-quality timepieces proudly made in the UK.
Bremont was founded by brothers Nick and Giles English in 2002. As qualified pilots who grew up surrounded by vintage aircraft, a passion for engineering remains a core quality of the brand.
This year, Bremont has unveiled a limited-edition timepiece inspired by an icon of British motoring engineering: the Jaguar D-Type. Limited to just 300 pieces, the new watch celebrates the classic design of the D-Type sports car and its prowess on the race track. It also commemorates the fact that, this year, Jaguar is fulfilling its original ambition of creating 100 D-Types (having only created 75 in the 1950s) by building 25 new motors that are authentic to the original design.
The new timepiece’s striking blue hue is inspired by the colours of the Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar race team, and the watch crown is etched with Dunlop tyre tread details. The bi-compax chronograph has brushed nickel sub-dials and a tachymeter dial ring and is presented in a leather wallet signed by Ian Callum, Jaguar’s director of design.
Bremont co-founder Nick English said: ‘The Jaguar D-Type is a truly iconic competition car that is just as remarkable today as it was when it was first produced… Continuing its legacy by completing the original planned production is very special indeed and we’re delighted to be celebrating with the launch of our new limited edition.’
